Libby's Replacements

Remember Scooter Libby? While most of the media has been skillfully distracted by the Alito nomination, Juan Cole reports on the upstanding individuals hired by Dick Cheney to replace Libby (link here). Lets just say that, well, they aren't such upstanding individuals. One of the replacements, David Addington, was the author of a number of memos justifying the use of torture in violation of numerous treaty obligations (and is an honorary member of the Alberto Gonzalez torture-lovers club). The other, John Hannah, was a key figure in spreading lies from Ahmad Chalabi about the huge stockpiles of WMDs that Saddam supposedly had in the lead-up to the invasion of Iraq.
